The David Lynch Foundation began 10 years ago with an aim to provide scholarships to teach Transcendental Meditation to at-risk youth in underserved schools, veterans with post-traumatic stress (PTS), women who are survivors of domestic violence, and homeless and incarcerated individuals. Ringo Starr is a longtime proponent of Transcendental Meditation, dating all the way back to the Beatles' time studying with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in India in 1968. In 2009, he reunited with Paul McCartney at a New York City event benefiting the David Lynch Foundation.
