Mulloli sellanen muistikuva että Maharishi totesi (usein?): Bliss is not blissful.
Kysyin tuota taannoin Fairfield Life -yahoo group'issa. Hiljan sain joltakulta s-postiin seuraavankaltaisen vastauksen:
Your recollection is correct, xxxxx (nimi muutettu): Maharish often used the "sugar-saccarine analogy" to describe the various states - levels of bliss, in that the "lower" ostensible Bliss States are 'sugar like', wherein bliss is in a state of experiential excitation, i.e., tasted; Then this stage is eventually transcended, as its "taste" becomes gradually attenuated to the point of its no longer being tasted, then becomes replaced (transcended) for the "higher bliss" of Unity, wherein it is so "concentrated, to the point that it is no longer "experienced" as tangible (sugary) bliss, but rather is more akin to saccarine, fully concentrated (bitter); wherein the bliss is not tasted as all. One has transcended the "taste of Bliss" to acquire its concentrated intangible infinite bliss value. C.C (cosmic consciousness - sidis) and G.C.(god consciousness - ditto ) are expressions of Bliss; U.C. (unity consciousness - ditto) is beyond the 'taste' value of Bliss. The Buddhas teaching on the Four "Rupa Jhanas", also explains this same teaching: i.e. the "Rupa Jhanas" (Dhyanas) 1 & 2, are equivalent to progression within C.C., and Rupa Jhanas 3 & 4, are equivalent to the progression within G.C. Jhanas 1-2 are dominated by Bliss: Jhanas 3-4, are the stages in which Bliss gradually "falls away", attenuates - resulting eventually in the state of "Equanimity", wherein the "attachment" to Bliss is overcome, in that its "limited value" is realized. Thereafter the State of (Yogic) Equanimity is gained, which State immediately precedes the onset of Unity Consciousnes, which was identified, by the Buddha, as the first Arupa (Formless) Jhana, or "Ananata-kasha", the Base of Boundless Space" as it is usually translated, The "Awareness of the the Infinite -Ether", that underlies all form, in that 'form' in its infinite value becomes to realized, "Seen and Known" as an expresssion of the Infinite Akasha itself. as this Reality within the Self, as becomes realized within Unity Consciousness, would be a much better description. The gaining of Unity eradicates any remaining attachment to the experiential Bliss states of C.C. and G.C. as these are seen to be lesser expressions of the Self.
