I have no memory until 7 days later when I awoke with the entire right side of my body 100% paralyzed, and I could not speak with a variety of language impairments. Now, over 4 years later, with enormous gratitude, I have had and am still having an equally massive recovery. An essential component of that recovery has been intensely researched and engaged nutrition. An a key part of that nutrition has been and is BLUEBERRIES. I eat them daily with oatmeal and walnuts (another great health food), in salads, in a cup solo with a spoon, and in as many ways as I want! My blood pressure has steadily dropped (now typically a little under 120/70, and creeping lower. My energy has skyrocketed. I walk sometimes with a cane, and other times without. My speech is very slightly affected, though many people do not notice any problem. Cognitively, I am much more acute. On holidays or special occasions when, for example, a friend asks my girlfriend what to bring me — what does Billy like?, they often ask. She simply answers, “blueberries.
